Dr. Pulane (Pully) Molokwane (Director - Technical Services)
Dr. Pulane (Pully) Molokwane holds a PhD (Chemical Technology-Environmental Engineering) from University of Pretoria, an M. Sc. (Applied Radiation Sciences) from University of the Northwest, a Postgraduate Diploma (Applied Radiation Sciences) from the University of the Northwest and B. Sc. (Physics) from the University of the Northwest. Pulane's career has spanned the related nuclear, environmental engineering, groundwater remediation and waste management both as an R&D scientist and senior executive. For 7 years, Pulane was employed by PBMR (Pty) Ltd, the company that pursued the South African high temperature reactor (HTR) project as a nuclear physicist focused on nuclear fuel design, graphite reclamation from HTR spent fuel, HTR waste minimization and licensing. During her stint at the PBMR, she was awarded a bursary to pursue post-graduate studies in which she distinguished herself in research work on the development of environmentally friendly processes for immobilization of toxic heavy metals, toxic oxyanionic species of metals, and radionuclides in the environment and aquifers, culminating in her not only being awarded a PhD, but also publishing more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in highly regarded scientific journals, book chapters, and international conferences. In November 2010 Pulane joined Sasol Technology (Pty) Ltd, Sasol Limiteds main R&D arm, as a principal environmental specialist. In that role she identified new technologies for Sasol, provided technology intelligence services, expert advice, provided technical context to Sasols strategic and legal compliance efforts besides performing a number of techno-economic studies to determine the potential viability of a number of Sasols technology projects.
